Unpact
Ltd started assembling flat pack furniture in 2001 building a solid
foundation and good reputation in a fledgling industry with a network
of eight assemblers covering the major conurbations of the UK. After
three years Unpact ceased trading at the end of 2004, and if you click
on www.unpact.co.uk
you
will reach our private sales home page.

Shortly
afterwards, one of the assemblers Edwin Cooke redefined the business
model and launched Flat Pack Amigos, steadily building a nationwide
network with the assistance of fellow director Adrian Roberts,
focussing on quality and using assemblers from the original Unpact
team.
Leveraging
strategic support and guidance from Manchester Business School, Flat
Pack Amigos were based until recently in a modest 16th Century building
in the picturesque Lancashire village of Rainford.

The
network currently consists of over 100 assemblers, who have the
necessary manual skills and experience, with a clean appearance,
manners and the bright friendly personality you would want from anyone
working around your own home. All assemblers are fully vetted, through
established procedures and brought into the Flat Pack Amigos way of
working focussing on the original company ethos:
"With
a warm friendly professional approach we build flat pack furniture to
the highest standard as standard!"
As the
company name suggests we are "THE FRIENDS OF FLAT PACK FURNITURE",
we build it so (you don't have to and) you have the furniture you fell
in love with in the store !
-
To
develop a resilient national network of 400 assemblers within 25
minutes of 97% of UK addresses by 2008
-
To
build a reputation as the number one furniture assembly company in the
UK, where quality and professionalism come first.
After two and a half
years trading we have established that the effort required to
co-ordinate and manage the booking and invoicing aspects of assembly
jobs (as well as maintain a high quality network of sub-contracted
assemblers) was too time consuming and costly for the market to bear.
We have been constantly undercut on
price by competitors who do not focus on providing a high quality
service.
As a result we are
reducing our role to one of monitoring the quality of the work of our
network of assemblers. This means you now contact our self employed
assemblers direct.
This way we intend to
ensure the quality of workmanship remains high and can provide the
service at a lower cost because:
We intend to continue
to grow the network and have adapted our existing process to ensure new
assemblers are brought on with the right skills and attitude to
successfully assemble your furniture. All information is available on
this site so as to remain completely open.
