We assemble furniture so you don’t have to.

About Flat Pack Amigos

Flat Pack Amigos was formed in late 2004 after several months planning and test trading. The aim was to set up a national network of flat pack assemblers to assist those that can't or don't want to assemble furniture themselves.

Unpact Ltd started assembling flat pack furniture in 2001 building a solid foundation and good reputation in a fledgling industry with a network of eight assemblers covering the major conurbations of the UK. After three years Unpact ceased trading at the end of 2004, and if you click on www.unpact.co.uk you will reach another website we run.

Shortly afterwards, one of the assemblers Edwin Cooke redefined the business model and launched Flat Pack Amigos, steadily building a nationwide network, focussing on quality and using assemblers from the original Unpact team.

Levering strategic support and guidance from Manchester Business School, Flat Pack Amigos were based originally in a modest 16th Century building in the picturesque Lancashire village of Rainford.

The network currently consists of over 100 assemblers, who have the necessary manual skills and experience, with a clean appearance, manners and the bright friendly personality you would want from anyone working around your own home. All assemblers are fully trained and vetted, through established procedures. Training is based on the Badge system operated by www.Flatpack.org.uk with further hands on assisted experience to support them. They are brought into the Flat Pack Amigos way of working focussing on the original company ethos:

"With a warm friendly professional approach we build flat pack furniture to the highest standard as standard!"

As the company name suggests we are "THE FRIENDS OF FLAT PACK FURNITURE", we build it so (you don't have to and) you have the furniture you fell in love with in the store !

To provide the highest quality of service we do the following:

  • Be clear and consistent over our charges, leaving no nasty surprises.

    • We are VAT registered and include this clearly in all our quotes.

    • If we charge extra we are clear about what it is for, ie extra items or atttaching furniture to the wall.

  • All our assemblers work to the standards set out in our Furniture Assembly Manual with which we are working towards the FIRA Gold Standard with to ensure a consistent and high standard of assembly service.

  • We are full insured and you can view our insurance certificates here:

  • Your feedback on the quality of service we provide drives our business. Each customer is asked to complete a feedback form after they make payment for the service. This is vital to understanding what we can do to improve our service and address any areas if we ever fall short.

  • We also systematically spot check the work our assemblers have done. Another member of staff will inspect a job at random against our set criteria.

  • We have a complaints process, should you have any problems with the work we have done. We are members of the Furniture Ombudsman Scheme who provide independent arbitration should it ever be needed and we are bound by their decision.

Our Objectives

  • To develop a resilient national network of 400 assemblers within 25 minutes of 99% of UK addresses

  • To build a reputation as the number one furniture assembly company in the UK, where quality and professionalism come first.

Thank you,
